Scan a specific file, folder, or external drive with Desktop Security for Windows

Desktop Security for Windows provides several ways to scan your Windows device to check for threats. You can scan your entire computer efficiently with a Quick scan, or focus on a specific file, folder, or external drive with a Custom scan. By scanning a specific file, folder, or external drive, you can check right from your file explorer if the item is safe and secure.

To scan a specific item on your Windows device:

1. On your Windows device, open your file explorer.
2. Find the file, folder, or external drive you want to scan.
3. Right-click on the desired item.
4. In the pop-up context menu, scroll down to Show more options.
5. Click Show more options, then click Scan with Malwarebytes.
6. Once the scan is complete, the Malwarebytes icon will flash in your system tray. 

Once the scan is complete, you can open the app to view the scan report and quarantine any threats that are detected.
