While browsing the internet on your macOS device, you may notice that Desktop Security has blocked the website you tried to visit. Desktop Security's Web Protection feature will block potentially harmful websites from loading to protect you from infections. When a website is blocked, the notification below will appear from the Malwarebytes icon in the header bar at the top of your screen.
For extra security and peace of mind, we recommend running a scan to ensure your device is not infected. For instructions on how to run a scan, see Run and schedule scans in Desktop Security.
When Web Protection blocks a safe website
The Web Protection feature is built to protect you against online phishing scams, infections, and ransomware. At this time, there is no ability to add a website to the Allow list so it is not blocked by Web Protection. If a website you believe is safe has been blocked by Web Protection, you can access the website by temporarily turning Web Protection off. You should only turn off Web Protection if you are absolutely certain the website is harmless.
