Check for updates in the VPN

To manually update to the latest version of the VPN, follow the steps for your operating system.

Check for updates on Windows devices

1. Open the VPN.
2. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
3. Click Check for updates. If there is an available update, an Update now button displays instead.
4. In the setup wizard pop-up window, click Install.
5. After the VPN finishes installing, the program closes. Relaunch the VPN.
6. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
7. The Product information section displays You have the latest version.

Check for updates on macOS devices

If you have the auto-updates feature disabled, follow these steps to update to the latest version of VPN for Mac.

1. Open the VPN.
2. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
3. Click Check for updates. If there is an available update, an Update now button displays instead.
4. For the update to continue, quit the app. In the menu bar at the top-left of your screen, click Malwarebytes VPN > Quit Malwarebytes VPN.
5. A browser launches with the MalwarebytesPrivacy-x.x.xx.xxx.dmg file. Double-click the file to install.
6. In the pop-up window, drag the VPN icon to the Applications folder.
7. In the same window, double-click the Applications folder.
8. In the Applications folder, double-click the VPN.
9. Click Open to confirm you want to open an app downloaded from the Internet.
10. In the top-right part of the main page, click Settings .
11. The Product information section displays You have the latest version.
