We want to let you know that Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware version 0.9.19 is now available for Malwarebytes Endpoint Security users. This is a full upgrade, not a component update. For this reason, installation may cause notifications to be displayed to endpoint users, and reboots of endpoints may be required to complete the update.
The underlying program architecture has been in use since Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware was introduced. It was designed to allow us to update program features and capabilities, so that we could continue to provide the best possible protection. This version continues to offer the protection that you demand, and program architecture has been redesigned with the future in mind.
Customers would want to upgrade because:
- The new installer has full compatibility with Malwarebytes for Business and Anti-Exploit, eliminating upgrade issues that sometimes causes those other apps to stop functioning
- The new version has improved performance overall
We would like to offer you two upgrade options:
OPTION 1: Download the newest version from either of these links:
The MSI version (recommended) can be used for automated installation by Microsoft Group Policies and for manual installations. The EXE version can be used for manual installations, and by several automated methods. Both methods will remove old versions of the program as part of the installation process.
OPTION 2: Do nothing, and instead wait for the automated download to occur.
The automated update will occur on August 12. This method will result in notifications being displayed to endpoint users during the upgrade and may result in reboots of endpoints, both of which may be undesirable to you.
If you have exercised the first option, you will not be affected when automated methods begin. If you have any questions or concerns on how to proceed, submit a support ticket and we can assist.
