Changing your server location helps protect your online privacy by making it look like you're connecting to the internet from somewhere else. With our VPN feature, you can change your location by choosing a server from a list of available countries. While we strive to provide a consistent selection of server locations, they are not guaranteed and may change. If you cannot find your preferred VPN server location, it may no longer be available.
Note: To change your location you'll need a subscription that includes VPN. You can upgrade your subscription from your Malwarebytes account. Follow the steps in this article to first turn on your VPN.
To change your server location:
- Open the Desktop Security app.
- Under Online Privacy, click Change to open the VPN page.
- Scroll through the list of available servers and choose a new server location. Choosing a server that is far away from your actual location may affect your network speed.
- Once you've selected a new server, click Change.
- Click the arrow icon on the top right corner to close the page.
When you choose a new server location, you are automatically assigned a new private IP address that appears under the server location on the main dashboard. Whenever you use the VPN feature, all your web traffic is tunneled through this private IP address, which helps hide your personal information and internet activity.
