Malwarebytes Personal Data Remover scans a vast network of data broker databases and individual sites for your sensitive data and personal information. With a Personal Data Remover subscription, you can view your scan results directly from your Malwarebytes account and follow the removal progress.
To view your scan results in your account:
- Sign in to your account.
- Click Personal Data Remover
in the side bar.
- On the Personal Data Remover page, view the scan summary and detailed results.
Scan summary and profile removal overview
At the top of the Personal Data Remover page is a summary of your scan results and how many profiles were found. Profiles are like folders of information data brokers have about you. They can include emails, addresses, social media accounts, previous names, and legal records such as marriage licenses.
- Total profiles found: This graph shows the number of total profiles found on data broker sites with your information.
- Profile removal overview: This section lists how many profiles out of that total have been removed and how many are in the progress of being removed.
Personal Data Remover scan results table
The detailed scan results table lists the sites where we found profiles that matched your information. You can click each profile to expand it and view more details, such as what other information that site may expose. The scan results table also shows the removal status for each profile:
- Exposed: Profiles with this status are openly available on data broker sites and have not been removed.
- In Progress: Profiles with this status are currently in the process of being removed. Depending on the data broker or site, it may take up to 45 days for your profile to be removed.
- Action required: Profiles with this status can't be removed by Malwarebytes on your behalf and need you to take action to remove those profiles yourself. Learn how you can take action to remove your information from data brokers.
- Removed: Profiles with this status have been successfully removed from a data broker site.
