Malware Protection
Available in: Windows, macOS
Malware Protection is a layer that monitors your device and prevents malicious files or programs from launching. When this feature identifies malware on your device, it automatically quarantines it. To make the most of Desktop Security's capabilities, it is best to have Malware Protection on all the time.
App Block
Available in: macOS
This layer detects applications from disreputable developers and automatically blocks them from downloading. By instantly blocking new applications from untrusted developers, your device remains protected from potentially unwanted programs (PUPs). Unless you are 100% sure the app you are downloading is safe, we recommend always having App Block on.
Web Protection
Available in: Windows
Web-based threats like online scams, phishing sites, and sites containing ransomware can make your device vulnerable when connected to the internet. To stay safe online, turn on Web Protection. This way, you can browse the internet with peace of mind, knowing your private data is secured and that unauthorized access to your computer or network services is prevented.
Ransomware Protection
Available in: Windows
Ransomware is a type of malware that locks you out of your devices and files and then demands payment to restore access. You can protect yourself from ransomware by turning on Ransomware Protection. This layer detects and prevents malicious software from locking you out of your system.
Exploit Protection
Available in: Windows
An exploit is a program or code that tries to take control of your system by finding and exploiting its vulnerabilities. To protect against exploits, turn on Exploit Protection to proactively block malicious software that tries to take advantage of those vulnerabilities.
