If the app detects a file or application that you think is safe, you can add it to the Allow list to prevent it from being detected during a scan or by Real-Time Protection. By adding an item to the Allow list, you're telling the app that you trust this item and it doesn't need to be quarantined. You should only add an item to the Allow list if you are absolutely certain the file or application is harmless.
Unblock an item by adding it to the Allow list
You can add an item to the Allow list in two ways: from the Allow list tab or when you restore an item from quarantine. Before adding an app or file to the Allow list, make sure you're confident it's safe for your device. Contact our support team if you are unsure.
Note: On macOS devices, websites cannot be added to the Allow list. Instead, contact our support team to report a false positive.
- Open the app.
- Click the Detection History card.
- Click the Allow list tab.
- Click the Add (macOS) or Add item (Windows) button.
- Select the file or application you want to add to the Allow list. On Windows devices, you can also choose websites and previously detected exploits.
- Select the file or application.
- Click Open (macOS) or Save (Windows). The item you chose is now saved to the Allow list.
Block an item by removing it from the Allow list
Removing an item from the Allow list allows the app to detect it again. You can remove an item from the Allow list by following the steps below.
- Open the app.
- Click the Detection History card.
- Click the Allow list tab.
- In the Allow list tab, select the item you wish to remove.
- Click Remove (macOS) or the trashcan icon (Windows).
- On Windows devices, click Yes on the pop-up that appears. Your item is now removed from the Allow list.
