When the app detects a threat on your device, it automatically puts anything suspicious in a safe place called quarantine. Once a threat is quarantined, it can no longer harm your device. Items that can be quarantined include files, folders, applications, and programs.
You can view quarantined items anytime from the Quarantined items tab on the Detection History page. From this page, you can also restore and delete quarantined items.
Remove a trusted item from quarantine
Sometimes, the app quarantines files or applications you know are safe and harmless. If you believe an item that is safe was detected and quarantined, you can restore the file or application so it can behave normally on your device. Also, you can add this item to the Allow list to prevent it from being detected and quarantined in the future. This should only be done for items that you recognize and trust.
To restore an item that you trust:
- Open the app.
- On the dashboard, click the Detection History card.
- Click the Quarantined items tab.
- Select the trusted item by checking its box.
- Click Restore or click Restore and allow to add the item to the Allow list.
Delete a quarantined item from your device
Deleting an item from the Quarantined items list deletes the quarantined item from your computer. The item will no longer be present on your device and can no longer be restored.
To delete an item from the quarantine list:
- Open the app.
- On the dashboard, click the Detection History card.
- Click the Quarantined items tab.
- Select the item you want to delete by checking its box.
- Click Delete.
