Passcode/pattern settings
This setting determines what information is needed to unlock your device. When unsecured, tap Set a password to enable your preferred device unlocking method. Learn more about Screen lock settings.
Device encryption
This setting allows you to safeguard your data by enabling encryption on your device, making sure that unauthorized parties are unable to read the data. Tapping Turn on encryption enables this setting, and secures your device’s data.
Near-Field Communications (NFC)
When enabled, this setting allows communication between devices through short-range wireless technology. NFC technology can be used to make payments or pair headphones, but can be also used for payment fraud. Tapping Turn off NFC disables this feature.
Google Play Protect
Google Play Protect checks apps before you install them from the Google Play store, and periodically scans the apps on your device to find potentially harmful apps. Tapping Adjust settings enables this setting, and provide additional protection on your device.
