Security Advisor overview in Mobile Security v5

Security Advisor in Mobile Security version 5 notifies you of any issues that must be resolved to effectively protect your device, and recommends the appropriate resolution. Tapping the Security issue notice at the top of the app's Dashboard opens Security Advisor, where you can review and resolve the issues identified.

On the Security Advisor screen, issues are divided into New and Ignored tabs, and color-coded to indicate their severity:

• Red: Critical issues that require your immediate attention.
• Yellow: Warning issues that may impact your security, but are non-critical.

Critical issues

Critical issues must be immediately resolved, can't be ignored.

Issue	Severity	Resolution
Access usage data	Critical	Tap Allow access to grant Usage data permission and allow Mobile Security to monitor other apps for threats and privacy issues.
Allow notifications	Critical	Tap Give permission to allow Mobile Security to notify you about detections.
Allow storage access	Critical	Tap Allow access to grant Storage access permission and allow Mobile Security to scan your storage for malicious files.
Automatic database update is off	Critical	Tap Adjust settings to turn On automatic database updates.
Background exclusion is required	Critical	Tap Adjust settings to grant Background exclusion permission, exclude Mobile Security from Battery Optimization, and allow the app to start scans, services, and show alerts.
Display over other apps	Critical	Tap Give permission to grant Display over other apps permission and allow Malwarebytes to display critical alerts.
Enable Safe browsing Scanner	Critical	Tap Adjust settings to grant Accessibility permission and allow Malwarebytes to read your screen behavior and determine if the sites you visit are malicious.
New detection update	Critical	Tap Update now to perform a database update and get the latest database version.
Perform full scan	Critical	Tap Scan now to perform a scan that checks all apps and files on your device.
Ransomware protection is off	Critical	Tap Turn ON to enable Ransomware protection on your device.
Real-Time Protection is off	Critical	Tap Turn ON to enable Real-Time Protection on your device.
Scan new apps	Critical	Tap Scan now to check all apps installed on your device.
Two week scan lapse	Critical	Tap Scan now to run a scan.
# threats found	Critical	Tap Take action to remove or ignore detected threats.

Warning issues

Warning issues may impact your security, but don't require immediate attention. Warnings can be ignored, and addressed at a later time. 

To ignore a Warning issue:

1. Tap the menu icon to the right.
2. Select Ignore this item. The item displays on the Ignored tab of the Security Advisor screen.

Issue	Severity	Resolution
Account on hold	Warning	Tap Manage subscription to review and manage your subscription status.
Developer mode is on	Warning	Tap Adjust settings to disable this option, the recommended action if you're not an Android developer or advanced user.
Device encryption is off	Warning	Tap Adjust settings to enable device encryption, to protect your data in case your device is lost or stolen.
Google Play Protect is off	Warning	Tap Adjust settings to enable Google Play Protect, which monitors apps available from the Play Store.
NFC is on	Warning	Tap Adjust settings to disable NFC, which can put you at risk of payment fraud.
No device PIN, Pattern, Password	Warning	Tap Adjust settings to configure a PIN, password or pattern to protect your device.
No scan scheduled	Warning	Tap Schedule scan to set a regularly occurring scan action.
Scan after update is disabled	Warning	Tap Adjust settings to start a scan after the detection database is updated.
There is a threat in your Allow list	Warning	Tap Remove from Allow list to remove the item from the Allow list, then run a scan to remove the threat.
Threat ignored during last scan	Warning	Tap Run full scan now to scan all apps and files on your device.
