The Mobile Security version 5 app requires a paid subscription to enable the features that protect your device. How you activate the app depends on if and where you purchased the subscription.

Buy a subscription in the app
To purchase a subscription in the app, first install Mobile Security on your device.
- Open Mobile Security.
- Tap Get started or, from the app's Dashboard, tap Settings
> My Subscriptions, then tap See pricing.
- In the Subscription plans screen, select the plan that suits your needs, then tap Start trial or Get started, if a Trial is not available.
- On the Play Store or App Store screen, check the subscription details and finalize the purchase.
- The Purchase successful screen displays. Tap Create an account, or Sign in to link your purchase and manage your subscription through the My Account portal. Tap Do it later to skip this step.
Activate an app store purchase
If you purchased from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, activate the app by restoring the purchase.
- Open Mobile Security.
- Tap Already have a subscription or, from the app's Dashboard, tap Settings
> My Subscriptions, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Tap Restore Google Play purchase or Restore App Store purchase.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your purchase.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.

Activate with your My Account login
You can use your My Account login credentials to activate the app.
- Open Mobile Security.
- Tap Already have a subscription or, from the app's Dashboard, tap Settings
> My Subscriptions, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Enter your My Account email and password. Need a My Account login? See how to create your Malwarebytes account.
- Tap Sign in.
- Enter the 6-digit 2FA verification code sent to your email inbox.
- Tap Verify.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.

Activate with a license key
Use your license key to activate your subscription. If you can't find it, learn how to locate your license key. This method is available on Android devices.
- Open Mobile Security on your device.
- Tap Already have a subscription or, from the app's Dashboard, tap Settings
> My Subscriptions, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Tap I have a license key or MB code.
- Enter your license key in the field.
- Tap Activate.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.
Activate with MB code
If you're already using Mobile Security on a mobile device and have a multiple seat subscription, you can generate a code to activate the app on additional mobile devices. To generate a code, activate the initial mobile device by signing in to My Account.
- On your activated device, open Mobile Security.
- Tap Settings
> My Subscriptions.
- Under Activate a new device, tap Generate MB code.
Note: Codes are valid for 90 seconds, and can only be used once. If your code expires, tap Generate new code. - On your additional mobile device, open Mobile Security.
- Tap Already have a subscription or, from the app's Dashboard, tap Settings
> My Subscriptions, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Tap I have a license Key or MB code.
- In the MB code field, enter the code generated, making sure to enter capital letters and numbers.
Note: On Android devices, code format is MB-XXXXXX. On iOS devices, code format is XXXXXX. - Tap Activate.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.
