The Mobile Security app protects your device using multiple security features. While the free version allows you to scan your device for any threats, certain features require a paid subscription to enable them. How you activate your paid subscription depends on whether you are using an Android or an iOS operating system.
Activate your subscription with your account login
You can use your Malwarebytes account login credentials to activate the app.
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap Already have a subscription. Or tap Settings > My Subscriptions from the app's Dashboard, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Enter your Malwarebytes account email and password. Need an account login? See how to create your Malwarebytes account.
- Tap Sign in.
- Enter the 6-digit 2FA verification code sent to your email inbox.
- Tap Verify.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.

Activate an app store purchase
You can upgrade your subscription from by purchasing from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you previously purchased a subscription, you can still activate the app by restoring the purchase. Install Mobile Security on your device first to activate a subscription in the app.
- Open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap Settings > My Subscriptions, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Tap Restore Google Play purchase or Restore App Store purchase.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to restore your purchase.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.

Activate your subscription with MB code
If you already use Mobile Security on a mobile device and have a multiple-seat subscription, you can generate a code to activate the app on additional mobile devices. To generate a code, activate the initial mobile device by signing in to your account.
- On your activated device, open the Mobile Security app.
- Tap Settings > My Subscriptions.
- Under Activate a new device, tap Generate MB code.
Note: Codes are valid for 90 seconds, and can only be used once. If your code expires, tap Generate new code. - On your additional mobile device, open Mobile Security.
- Tap Already have a subscription or, from the app's Dashboard, tap Settings > My Subscriptions, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Tap I have a license Key or MB code.
- In the MB code field, enter the code generated. Make sure to enter capital letters and numbers correctly.
- Note: On Android devices, the code format is MB-XXXXXX. On iOS devices, the code format is XXXXXX.
- Tap Activate.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration date.
Activate your subscription with a license key
Available in: Android
This method is only available on Android devices. Use your license key to activate your subscription. If you can't find it, learn how to locate your license key.
- Open the Mobile Security app on your device.
- Tap Already have a subscription. Or tap Settings > My Subscriptions from the app's Dashboard, then tap Already have a subscription.
- Tap I have a license key or MB code.
- Enter your license key in the field.
- Tap Activate.
- Once activation is complete, the My Subscriptions screen displays your subscription type and expiration.
