Malwarebytes for Windows context menu does not work

When you right-click a file or folder, the right-click pop-up menualso known as the context menudoes not display Scan with Malwarebytes or Scan with Malwarebytes does not work.



Malwarebytes for Windows v3.1, v3.2, and v3.3 may experience this issue.



  1. Open Malwarebytes for Windows.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click the Application tab, then scroll down to Windows Context Menus.
  4. View the Show Malwarebytes options in Windows Explorer setting.
  5. Click the slider to the On position.
  6. Use the Windows system tray to Quit Malwarebytes for Windows.
  7. Open Malwarebytes for Windows.
  8. Right-click any file or folder.
  9. Check to see if the the context menu shows Scan with Malwarebytes.
  10. Click Scan with Malwarebytes to run a Custom Scan and confirm the issue is resolved.
  11. When the Custom Scan is finished, Malwarebytes for Windows notifies you when the scan is complete and if any threats were found.
