If the Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent is installed on Windows Server 2008, it may fail to register with the Malwarebytes cloud console.
When the Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent fails to register, the following error appears in the logs:
The client and server cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm.
Windows Server 2008 does not support TLS 1.1 or 1.2 unless Service Pack 2 is installed. The Malwarebytes Endpoint Agent requires TLS 1.1 and 1.2 to communicate with the Malwarebytes cloud console.
Install Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, then enable TLS 1.1 and 1.2 on the server. For instructions, see Microsoft's article Update to add support for TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 in Windows....
A Windows command script is attached, as an example, to help with configuration.
