Why does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware seem to randomly scan the system?

If Malwarebytes Anti-Malware appears to be scanning your system at random times, please make sure you do not have a scheduled scan enabled.


To verify your Scheduled Scans, please do the following:

  1. Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 
  2. Click Settings Automated Scheduling


If you see a scheduled scan that you do not wish to have, you can select this item with the checkbox to the left, and then click Remove Task to delete the scheduled scan.
