I got an error that Anti-Malware for Mac can't be opened because it wasn’t downloaded from the Mac App Store

If you are receiving an error that Anti-Malware for Mac can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store (shown below), this is likely due to the security settings on your system.

 

To work around this, please do one of the following:

Option A

  1. Launch System Preferences
  2. Click Security & Privacy
  3. On the bottom half of the screen, click Open Anyway

Option B

  1. Navigate to the folder where you copied Anti-Malware for Mac
  2. Control-click (Right-click) the Anti-Malware for Mac app
  3. Click Open
  4. You will receive the warning from before, with additional options
  5. Click Open

 

You should only have to do either of these methods once. After you have run the application once, it will run in the future as a trusted application.
