Malwarebytes Management Console unable to verify license key

When attempting to activate your license key in the Malwarebytes Management Console, the following error appears:


Unable to contact server to verify your license key.  Please check your connection.



Your firewall, proxy settings, network configuration or another antivirus installed application is preventing the Management Console from contacting the activation server,



You will need to verify your network meets the following communication criteria.  After completing each step, test your server's connection, by opening a browser, and going to  If your server is configured properly, returns the following status:


Continue to the next step, if you cannot establish a connection to the activation server.


  1. Add the following exceptions to your firewall and proxy settings:
  2. Add as a Trusted Site in Internet Explorer.
    Refer to Microsoft's TechNet article, Internet Explorer: Enhanced Security Configuration.

  3. In the Windows Services Manager, restart Malwarebytes Management Service.
    1. Click the Start menu.
      For Windows Server 2003 operating systems, press the WINDOWS + R keys.

    2. Type services.msc, then press Enter.

    3. Right-click the Malwarebytes Management Service > Restart.

  4. If you have another antivirus application installed on your server, add the Management Console to your antivirus' exclusions.
