Why do I receive the error, “Unable to contact server to verify your license key Please check your connection”?

This is likely occurring because the management server is unable to verify the status of your license, usually due to a network communication issue.  Please ensure that the following communication criteria are met:

  • Traffic to https://keystone.mwbsys.com is allowed on port 443
  • If traffic is routed through a proxy server, you will need to configure your proxy settings at the operating system level
  • Try to restart the Malwarebytes Management Service in the Service Manager
  • Add the Keystone URL to a Trusted Site in the Internet Options under the Security tab of Internet Explorer
