How do I whitelist an item in Malwarebytes Management Console?

To whitelist an item in Malwarebytes Management Console (MBMC), there are three methods that can be used.

 

Method 1: From the Policy Pane

  1. Log in to your Management Console
  2. Click the Policy pane
  3. Select the Policy in which you want to whitelist an item and click Edit.
  4. Click the Ignore List tab
  5. Enter any items you would listed, separated by a new line

You can whitelist any of the following:

  • IP Addresses i.e. 192.168.8.2
  • Files i.e. C:\Windows\not-a-virus.exe
  • Folders i.e. C:\Windows\SystemFolder\*
  • Registry Keys i.e.

Method 2: From the Client Pane

  1. Log in to your Management Console
  2. Click the Client pane
  3. Click the client that has detected something you wish to whitelist
  4. Click the Security Logs tab
  5. Right click the detected item, then click Add to Ignore List

This will add the item to the policy that the computer is currently assigned to.

Method 3: from the Client Pane (Threat View)

1. Log in to your Management Console

2. Click the Client pane > Threat View

3. Right-click the detection you wish to whitelist

4. Click Exclude this Object to whitelist the item on the policy that the original machine that detected it has applied

5. Click Exclude this object for All Clients to whitelist the item on all policies
