    Resolutions

Each error message outlined below includes the root cause and resolution.

Error 1: Server Error in '/active' Application. The file '/active/reports/SummaryReport.aspx' has not been pre-compiled, and cannot be requested.

The system and network service do not have permission to access the folder Temporary ASP.NET Files.  If the system and network service cannot access Temporary ASP.NET Files, Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS) cannot create reports for the Malwarebytes Management Console.

To edit permissions for Temporary ASP.NET Files, perform the following steps on your database server:

    1. Open Windows File Explorer and enter the following file path:
      C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\
    2. Press Enter.
    3. Right-click the Temporary ASP.NET Files folder, then click Properties.

    4. Click Security > Edit....

    5. Click Add....
    6. Enter the following object names:
      • SYSTEM
      • NETWORK SERVICE

    1. Click OK.
    2. Give SYSTEM and NETWORK SERVICE full control.
    3. Click Apply.
    4. To confirm your changes, click Yes.
    5. Open Task Manager.
    6. Click the Services tab.
    7. Right-click mbMgmtSvc (Malwarebytes Management Service) then click Stop.

    8. Open File Explorer and enter the following file path:
      C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\Temporary ASP.NET Files
    9. Delete all content inside the folder Temporary ASP.NET Files.
    10. In Task Manager, right-click mbMgmtSvc then click Restart.
    11. Open the Malwarebytes Management Console and click Reports to confirm the error no longer appears.

Error 2: Unable to access the report information

    1. Open Internet Explorer.

    4. In the Security section, click the following checkboxes:
      • TLS 1.0
      • TLS 1.1
      • TLS 1.2

    1. Click Apply.
    2. Open Task Manager.

    3. Click the Services tab.

    4. Right-click mbMgmtSvc (Malwarebytes Management Service), then click Restart.
